Meet the team: Three questions with Office Manager-Public Relations Kim Mulder-Struik
Every month we put three questions to one of our yachting industry professionals. This time, we caught up with Kim Mulder-Struik, Office Manager-Public Relations at Mulder Design.
1: What’s does a good day at the office look like for you?
If there's a good vibe in the office, the team is productive and working well together, and Ruby the office dog has shared some love, I grab my morning coffee upstairs, talk to Bas and feel really proud of our team. We’re all in this together and need each other to make everything work.
Being a team means strengthening each other and having fun together. I like organising typical Dutch celebrations for the team every year as we nurture a positive company culture, empower people and help boost engagement and performance. A lot of my time goes into connecting with my colleagues, discussing what they find important and what they need to perform to their best.
Communication is so crucial within our close-knit team of nine and in a small company where everyone takes on different tasks. The work is varied and dynamic, and as office manager I have to wear multiple hats – accounts, HR, receiving clients, answering the phone and public relations. I also work in close collaboration with Mulder Design’s marketing manager Anco Kok and organise events such as our annual participation in the Monaco Yacht Show.
2: What’s your favourite quote?
“Work hard, play hard”. If you work hard and strive for your goals, you should also have time to unwind and have fun. That’s why we attend the Monaco Yacht Show every year as a team, staying together in a large house with great views. This inspires further teambuilding and good vibes as we work hard to get everything ready in time for the show, then give it our all during the event while also enjoying the beautiful weather, stunning surroundings and – most importantly – each other’s company. It’s the best of both worlds you might say and I’m proud to be part of this.
3: How would you sum up the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show?
Strengthening the relationships that have been built over time, sharing our new project called Opal, discovering new collaborations, teambuilding and at the end of each day, very sore feet! 🙂
